What’s Midlife Bites?
It’s a newsletter with nutrition tips and delicious recipes to help you take charge of your long-term health and ignite a renewed joy for food. My aim is to create a positive approach to food that is inspiring, nourishing and achievable. After all, it’s the small changes that can have the longer-lasting impact — making small improvements, on repeat, can make a real difference in the long-run. Approaching our wellness as a lifestyle, rather than a final destination, means less pressure, less stress and a sense of freedom to enjoy the journey. And I’m here to guide you on that journey.
With menopause being a natural life stage for half of the population, I’ve seen from clients that it’s so important to educate women early about the options available to them to support a smooth transition. Midlife Bites focuses on simple, achievable tips and recipes to support women through perimenopause and beyond. By creating this community, I’m hoping to provide an opportunity for women to press pause, reflect and feel motivated to improve their wellbeing through practical food and lifestyle choices.
But who are you?
I’m Sinéad, a Registered Nutritionist (mBANT, rCNHC) and women’s health expert. I support women in their 30s and 40s to feel empowered to take charge of their long-term health through a simple and joyful approach to food.
I studied for four years at the prestigious Centre for Nutrition Education & Lifestyle Management and gained a MSc in Personalised Nutrition, in addition to a clinical practice diploma in Nutritional Therapy. I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) meaning I have to uphold a high level of excellence and take part in continued regular training. My research examining the role of vitamin D in female infertility as a symptom of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has been published in the Journal of Reproductive Immunology.
I feel passionately that food should be enjoyed as well as having the power to improve our wellbeing — you won’t find any fad diets here! As a Leiths School of Food and Wine-trained chef, I hope that my recipes will help you understand that food is more than fuel or nutrients; it’s fun, it’s therapy, it’s connection and it’s JOY!
And what exactly do you do?
As a Registered Nutritionist, I also work with clients on a 1:1 basis where I support women struggling with health issues to feel empowered to achieve their goals. Changes to diet and lifestyle don’t happen overnight, but they can easily be achieved with the right support and coaching and this is what you will get from working with me. My approach is motivational, compassionate, collaborative, non-judgemental and above all, realistic.
Please do get in touch if you’d like to book a free 30-minute discovery call where we’ll chat about your key health concerns, what your goals are and how nutritional therapy can help.
I’m also a food & health editor providing copywriting, recipe editing and technical services to professionals and brands in the nutrition industry. I’m a regular contributor to the Deliciously Ella blog, app and website and have written for organisations including, The Be Well Collective.
What shall I expect from Midlife Bites?
The newsletter will educate, inspire, motivate and provide positivity so that you can take care of becoming a healthier, happier YOU!
Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it should be simple. In each newsletter edition, I’ll be sharing nutritious and delicious recipes — from breakfast through to dinner, plus simple, nourishing snacks — that are quick and easy, requiring little effort or skill but are totally satisfying.
In a world where we’re continuously bombarded with misinformation and pseudoscience, I’ll also be breaking down evidence-based nutritional information into actionable takeaways (plus tips and useful resources along the way) so that you feel completely prepared on your journey through perimenopause and beyond.
